Choosing a holiday, we believe, is based on the trust between what the seller promises to provide and the buyers expectation. At Unusual Places we believe bridging this communication gap provides for a more realistic interpretation of a holiday, precisely why we mention what is not available at our properties.

1. None of our properties are centrally air-conditioned. Air-conditioning is available     at our coastal properties and those located on the plains but with restricted use,     confined only to use in the night.
2. Most of our properties do not have a TV and those that do, do not encourage     use of the same due to poor transmission. Moreover, we believe, a holiday     becomes one only when one can leave as much of the mundane normal world     behind and loose oneself in the experience of the present.
3. Guests can make STD, ISD or Local Calls from all our properties by buying and     using a BSNLIndia Telephone Card available in all denominations from Rs. 105     to Rs. 525. The card is available at all our properties.
4. None of our properties have room service and meals are served in a common     dining room.
5. Traditional, homely food based on the local cuisine is only available at all our     properties. There is no a-la-carte menu. The Menu is usually set between the     guest and the host / caretaker depending upon the culinary skills of the cook,     which in most cases is exemplary. Care is taken to serve food fresh and warm     with controlled use of spices.
6. At Unusual Places we believe a holiday is a private experience between the     guest and the environment. Hence all our properties provide a quiet, private     atmosphere without the incessant chatter and trappings of a luxury resort.
